She's focussed, thoughtful, prepared and creative in rehearsal, and a powerful, magnetic force on stage.  She feeds off the connection with her bandmates and a captivated crowd.  Her musical journey dates back more than 20 years ago, starting with classical piano training.  She first tried drum set when she was invited to join a pirate ska band, The Scurvies, performing in costumes at punk-rock shows well before the days of YouTube!  She has performed with concert bands, symphony orchestras, rock bands, percussion ensembles, jazz-fusion combo's, techno projects, even authentic Indonesian Gamelan.   

Fiercely feminine behind the kit, Kate continues to perform on a world stage tearing down gender barriers with an unabashed love for her craft.  Her influences include John Bonham, Chad Smith, and Tony Williams. 

She has several years' experience teaching children and adults in concert band, percussion ensemble and private lesson and workshop settings.
